Vans 106 Vulc is a fairly recent addition to what is already an impressive collection. The Vans 106 vulcanised is a simple, comfortable low-top that has classic vintage skater shoe lines, but also employs modern methods in its construction. The Vulc's uppers are thoughtfully made, with some versions using 100% organic canvas. The waffle pattern outer soles are also made using rubber of which 20% is recycled. This further reduces the impact these shoes have on our environment. Vans believe that this is a good way for their customers to help keep the planet cleaner and greener for skaters of the future.
Generally, it is recommended that you buy your Vans 106 Vulc in your normal shoe size or perhaps half a size smaller. This is due to the fact that they fit differently to the Vans slip on, due to the cut and shape of the uppers. A slip on is typically made in a tighter fit with extra elastication so it won't fall off. The 106 being a lace up style, offers a classic skate shoe feel and fit. There is only a small amount of padding in the 106 Vulc, so these are likely to feel looser than your regular, more padded skate shoe. Of course, being a lace-up also gives you the option to mix it up with different laces for a more personal touch.
