BE TRULY AWARE OF WHAT YOU WEAR - Why Hardcloud loves Volcom

Volcom's journey to a New Future began humbly more than 13 years ago and has continued to evolve ever since. Today they call it Volcom Eco-True and it embodies their continued effort and commitment to implement initiatives that contribute to a New Future where our oceans are strong, our climate is stable and where we can all live in a smart and mindful society. Volcom's declared approach is:

  • Responsible manufacturing
  • Better fibre sourcing
  • Robust impact evaluation
  • Meaningful givebacks

Volcom's Organic Cotton Farm To Yarn journey followed 27 tons of certified organic cotton from seed to sample in order to deliver traceable cotton fabric.

But tracing the origins of your organic cotton is not easy! In partnership with the purpose driven company Cotton Connect, Volcom dove deep into their supply chain and helped support a Farmer Business Training School in Maharashtra and a Gender Training Program empowering the roles of women in Madhya Pradesh, India

These efforts will allow farmers and their families to flourish by supporting their shift and continued commitment to organic farming methods.

Volcom jeans are probably amongst the best quality in the world and are also Water Aware.  Their jeans are better for the planet and for its people.

The Volcom Brand Jeans use reformulated water-saving techniques in the finishing processes during the production which means they have been able to achieve an average saving of 13 litres of water per pair of jeans.  By using enzyme and ozone water-saving techniques in their manufacturing process Volcom save an annual average of 4.5 million litres of water!

Water Aware is the next chapter in Volcom’s journey to sustainability and is in line with their ambition to make the largest impact by introducing more sustainable materials or processes across to the products that they produce in the greatest volume.

Recycled plastic bottles in Volcom garments!

Working in partnership with REPREVE®, Volcom continues to increase the amount of recycled plastic bottles in their polyester products like chinos, denim, trunks, hybrids, sandals and more!

To date, Volcom has used over 33 million recycled plastic bottles in their garments thanks to their long partnership with REPREVE®.

Since 1995, Volcom has invited artists to put their stamp on the Volcom range.  They create products for the passionate which not only embodys our lifestyle but enhances our ability to live it. Their avant-garde approach to creativity has been the corner-stone of Volcom, pushing boundaries in all aspects of design to foster an eclectic and inclusive creative tradition.

Every season a new collection of products from featured artists add something different and exciting to the Volcom range.

Volcom uses hemp in selected items for the environmental advantages it offers.

Hemp is a time-tested fibre made from a fast growing annual plant which is a low input crop generally requiring little or no use of pesticides or herbicides. Volcom are always looking for new (or old) ways to reduce their eco impact.
