Etnies

Etnies was launched in 1986 and is owned by ex professional skateboarder Pierre André Sénizergues. Based in California, Etnies were one of the first global skate brands and now sponsor a world class team of skateboarders and BMXer’s. They have stayed true to their roots, developing technical and casual trainers as well as pushing their ethical values to support the environment and local communities. They have now planted over 1.7 million trees since launching their “Buy a shoe, Plant a tree” campaign and are always looking to reduce their impact on the planet. Etnies continue to produce iconic styles offering comfort and support both on and off the board. Whether you're looking for a low top skate shoe or a casual trainer, Etnies offers the best footwear for boardsport enthusiasts.

BUILT TO PERFORM - Why Hardcloud loves Etnies

Etnies designed the Buy a Shoe, Plant a Tree project in 2011 to help everyone get involved in international reforestation. Since the start of the project they have planted over 2 million trees in the name of their loyal etnies customers. For every etnies product purchased a donation goes to Trees For The Future, a not-for-profit organisation, and on select styles one tree will be planted.

Trees for the Future doesn't just plant trees, they train communities on sustainable land use so that they can grow vibrant economies, thriving food systems, and a healthier planet.

In this simple way we can help make the planet a better place, by wearing etnies!

Etnies was one of the first action-sports footwear brands to partner with BLOOM to help reduce the environmental impact by using  the world's first plant based foam.  Formulated with algae it is a renewable biomass that cleans the environment and reduces our dependance on fossil fuels.

For each pair of shoes infused with BLOOM into their footbed, etnies claim an average of 225 bottles of filtered water is returned to the environment and 21 balloons worth of CO2 is kept from entering the atmosphere.  Another reason to wear etnies trainers.

Shoes don't last forever but the longer they last the fewer are made, the better for the planet, so etnies partnered with the planet's top manufacturer of rubber, Michelin, to help make their trainers 3 times more durable than standard rubber soles.  Etnies uses premium Michelin rubber for the outsoles on their premium trainers, including Michelin Fiber Lite Technology.

Etnies trainers with Michelin rubber outsoles are more durable and grippy than the rubber on other standard trainers, but still maintain the same flexibility and movement needed from a technical skate shoe.  Treat you feet to some shoe tech.

For those of us who prefer our shoes guilt free, etnies have a full range of vegan skate trainers.  Etnies have added a vegan option to many of their silhouettes built with the same durability in mind so you don't have to compromise your style or your ethics.

Etnies also have some styles like the Jamerson 2 Eco which are all vegan so you get a full range of colourways to choose from. Made entirely from animal friendly materials, glues and processes you are sure to find some etnies trainers that are perfect for your feet and your mind.

Since 1995, Volcom has invited artists to put their stamp on the Volcom range.  They create products for the passionate which not only embodys our lifestyle but enhances our ability to live it. Their avant-garde approach to creativity has been the corner-stone of Volcom, pushing boundaries in all aspects of design to foster an eclectic and inclusive creative tradition.

Every season a new collection of products from featured artists add something different and exciting to the Volcom range.

Volcom uses hemp in selected items for the environmental advantages it offers.

Hemp is a time-tested fibre made from a fast growing annual plant which is a low input crop generally requiring little or no use of pesticides or herbicides. Volcom are always looking for new (or old) ways to reduce their eco impact.
